Accessibility

Wheelchairs are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis and may be obtained at a Guest Services Desk. Motorized wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, and other mobility aides are permitted in all areas of the Museum.

Booster seats can be obtained at the Guest Services Desk in the Atrium across from the Performing Arts Theater, or by asking a Guest Services Associate or Usher.

Portable stools are available for use in the galleries and may be obtained at a Guest Services Desk or in the Stephens Galleries.

During the run of AMFA’s Children’s Theatre productions, one designated performance features an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. Please check the calendar for upcoming dates.

Additional ASL-interpreted performances are available upon request. Please contact us for more information.

During Artist Talks, live open captions are displayed on a large screen behind the presenter.

EnChroma glasses for children and adults with color-blindness or color vision deficiency may be obtained at a Guest Services Desk.

Sensory bags and weighted blankets are available for both children and adults and may be checked out at a Guest Services Desk. Each bag contains headphones, sunglasses, a fidget item, and a weighted plush.

Social narratives are available for download to prepare guests for a Museum visit, school tour, or theatre performance.
