  • Where do I park for my class?

Students may park in any guest parking space in the AMFA parking lot.

If the AMFA parking lot is full, students may utilize the parking lot at the Firehouse Museum & Hostel on 1201 Commerce Street or any street parking available along Commerce, Rock, or 11th Streets.

  • Where do I enter the building for my class?

Students may enter the building through the Windgate Art School entrance (see starred location on map).

Follow the covered walkway to the double doors on your left and press the button on the call box. For safety, Security will answer and ask which class you are attending. Please share the class you are attending, and Security will open the door to let you in.

Please use the Windgate Art School entrance as your primary entrance and exit point for your classes. This entrance is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Students will be able to exit after 8:00 p.m., but not enter.

  • Where is my class located?

To find your classroom location in the Windgate Art School, please refer to the map in our Mobile Guide and tap on the Art School section.

For youth classes, guardians must escort their child to their classroom at the start of class and pick them up from the classroom when the class ends. Faculty are not able to escort children to and from the classroom.

  • What do I wear to class?
    • For your safety, wear closed-toe shoes in all studios. Do not wear sandals or Crocs.
    • If you have long hair, tie it up so it does not catch on powered equipment.
    • Wear clothing that can get a little dirty, feels not too loose, and is comfortable to work in.
    • Do not wear any loose jewelry like necklaces and earrings. In some studios, even rings can interfere with your work.
  • What do I need to bring to class? Are there materials I need to buy ahead of time?

All supplies are provided for youth classes and Art for Two experiences unless stated otherwise in the class description.

Current class supply lists can be found by clicking here.

  • Where can I purchase materials on the supply list?

Many supplies can be purchased in-store or online at the AMFA Museum Store. Several classes have a complete supply kit available. If you would like to shop in person, the Museum Store is open during regular Museum hours.

Other locations for purchasing supplies are provided in the class supply lists.

  • Can I reschedule for a missed class?

AMFA cannot reschedule individually missed classes.

If a class is canceled due to weather, a makeup class will be scheduled. Your instructor will inform you of the makeup class date and time.

  • If I know I am going to miss classes, can I only pay for the classes I attend?

AMFA does not issue prorated rates and/or refunds for missed classes.
