Dr. Victoria Ramirez
Dr. Victoria Ramirez, a strategic leader with over 20 years of executive-level experience in the museum field, leads AMFA in its mission to create an inclusive and accessible cultural space for Arkansas and the region.
Dr. Ramirez joined the institution in 2019, guiding AMFA through a historic transformation, including an extensive renovation and reimagining project that expanded its historic MacArthur Park campus, broadened its visual and performing arts programming, and increased its annual donor base.
AMFA successfully reopened to international acclaim in 2023, earning the title of “America’s most inviting art museum” by Forbes and welcoming a record number of guests. Since then, the Museum has steadily increased its annual budget and received additional accolades, such as a National Medal for Museum and Library Service in 2025.
During this time of tremendous growth, Dr. Ramirez continues to prioritize innovation, education, and outreach. Her visionary leadership has pushed AMFA to launch robust new offerings across the institution and strengthen its community partnerships, fostering a stronger connection to Arkansans of all ages and extending its impact for generations to come.
Dr. Ramirez previously served as director of the El Paso Museum of Art, the Bullock Texas State History Museum, and as the W.T. and Louise J.
