Chad Bradford

Chad Bradford is a director, actor, composer, and playwright who joined AMFA as Associate Director of Children’s Theatre and Performing Arts in 2023. He is a longtime ensemble member of Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, where he previously acted as Tour Director and Managing Director. Bradford also co-founded Shake on the Lake in western New York, where he served as Associate Artistic Director.

In his role as Interim Director of Children’s Theatre and Performing Arts, he aims to inspire children and families by presenting the highest quality performing arts experiences. Since arriving at the Museum, Bradford has expanded its programming for young audiences by writing and composing for AMFA’s puppet-in-residence, Flurffy, and directing several main stage Children’s Theatre productions.

Bradford’s stage work includes roles in Off-Broadway and regional theaters, including the American Globe Theatre, American Shakespeare Center, American Theatre for Actors, Pennsylvania Centre Stage, and Arkansas Repertory Theatre. He is also the founder of Voices UnCaged, a theatre outreach program working with incarcerated populations.

Bradford holds an M.F.A. in Acting and Theatre from Penn State and an M.S. in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University.
