As Director of the Windgate Art School, Andrea Moon leads efforts to shape educational offerings and cultivate a dynamic, creative environment for students and emerging artists. Moon oversees all aspects of the school, including the development and implementation of a strategic plan focused on the institution’s mission and values, and positions AMFA as a nationally leading place for learning visual and performing arts.

Moon is also a contemporary ceramic artist and sculptor. Her artwork reflects her belief in the transformative power of craft, with ceramics serving as a medium capable of expressing complex ideas through both traditional and contemporary techniques. Moon most recently served as a lecturer in ceramics at Washington University in St. Louis, and her academic work is complemented by her active participation in the broader arts community, nationally and internationally where she regularly exhibits her work and engages in panel discussions, lectures, and workshops.

Throughout her career, Moon has held key leadership roles in the arts, including as the Residency and Communications Coordinator at The Red Lodge Clay Center in Montana, Director of the International Artist Residency at The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China, and Director of Education at Craft Alliance in St. Louis, Missouri.

Moon holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 3D studies from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a Master’s Degree of Fine Arts in ceramics & sculpture from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She also completed graduate studies in ceramics at the University of South Carolina in Columbia and a post-baccalaureate study in ceramics at the University of Illinois, Urbana–Champaign.
