The Age of Anxiety examines the political and economic turmoil following World War I through unforgettable art with jagged lines, shadowy settings, and unsettling beauty. Appearing alongside imagery from influential films of the time, these works reveal the lasting impact of German Expressionism on art, horror, science fiction, and visual culture.
