Pattern in Metal: Texture & Type Workshop
July 18 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Discover a unique approach to surface design by transforming text into abstract art.
In this workshop, learn to use letter and number stamps on copper to create intricate, rhythmic, and layered patterns. Once your design is set, you will experience the thrill of enameling as your piece is fired with transparent enamel to reveal and preserve copper’s vibrant “heat patina.”
This class is a fantastic opportunity to experiment with typography as a decorative element and explore the interaction between metal, fire, and enamel.
Please bring your lunch. The workshop will take a lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
The Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen.
