Folded Steel Workshop

May 9 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Photo of a steel pendant on a necklace chain on a jewelry stand.

Translate monumental sculpture into wearable art! Inspired by work on view in AMFA’s exhibition, A Month of Sundays: Art and the Persistence of Time, this workshop teaches how to create geometric, architectural jewelry using steel.

Under expert guidance, you will learn the precision technique of scoring steel blanks to create crisp, sharp folds, which are reinforced with soldering. Learn soldering techniques and steel-finishing methods to create a modern, sculptural pendant.
