Art School

Art, community, and creativity thrive in the Art School at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Classes and workshops are designed for all students – from beginners and aspiring makers to skilled artists and everyone in between.

Art School classes and workshops are currently on hold until AMFA’s grand opening. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates and announcements.

At the AMFA Art School, experienced artists teach classes and workshops in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, jewelry, theatre, and more. For artists, business of art classes and workshops offer direction on building websites, marketing art, and making connections with collectors. Innovative new workshops and classes are offered throughout the year.

The Art School is committed to inclusion – artists of all skill levels, ages, and backgrounds are encouraged to join. Many Art School classes are held virtually, and students are welcome to register from anywhere. Camps, classes, and workshops are a flexible and affordable way to connect with the visual and performing arts online.

Make plans to create in spacious new studio classrooms, equipped with specialty equipment for a variety of artistic media including clay, paint, wood, metals, glass, and more. In new performance spaces, join classes for youth and adults.

The Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional funding provided by The Dorothea Lawrence Gilbert Fund for Art Enrichment and Outreach; Union Pacific Foundation; and Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation.
