Beginner | Sustainable Clay Workshop
Pottery by Zach Wollert. Discover sustainable techniques to practice in the ceramics studio! Novice to experienced artists are welcome to register for this workshop for an interesting and exciting look into the world of ceramics and sustainability.
Through hands-on demonstrations, participants will learn simple methods to source, process, and test hand-dug unrefined clay. Unrefined clay will be provided to work with as the workshop progresses. Other demonstrations and topics of discussion will be recycling clay, making slips, and kiln firing.

Each three-hour session will feature a variety of timed poses, providing a dynamic experience for both students and artists. An expert artist will be monitoring the studio to offer advice and direction towards completing your artwork.
Each three-hour session provides an opportunity to develop and refine your skills in an independent work environment.

This Independent Study is focused on building midrange sized projects, such as small furniture or sculpture, allowing all students to explore their creativity while working in an active communal space.
Best practices for machine use will be reviewed to ensure safety and efficiency, with demonstrations planned to student interest. This class provides the opportunity to develop practical skills while bringing your creative vision to life.
Students are responsible for bringing their own materials, giving them the freedom to work with specific types of wood, hardware, or other supplies for their projects.
