Registration opens for AMFA virtual classes
Registration for June virtual art classes at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts’ Windgate Art School opens May 17. The June session will be the last virtual Art School mini quarter before the new Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts opens in the Fall of 2022. The Art School will continue to offer programming, demos, and workshops on an ongoing basis.
Registration for June classes is open May 17 through May 31. This summer, the Windgate Art School will offer a variety of visual and performing arts experiences for adults and youth. Virtual class offerings this summer include the business of art, sketchbook journaling, figure drawing, collage, performing arts, and more. Socially distanced outdoor classes also offer opportunities to create in locations around Central Arkansas. June classes run June 6 – July 2.
AMFA is also offering its summer youth academies in a virtual format. Junior Arts Academy, for first through fourth graders, will run June 7–18, and AMFA Arts Academy, for fifth through eighth graders, will run June 21 – July 2.
While June is the final virtual session the Art School will offer before AMFA’s grand opening, the Art School will continue to offer ongoing programming, demos, and new ways for artists to continue building their artistic skills.
Beginning in the Fall of 2022, the Windgate Art School at the new Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts will offer creative and innovative programming in a variety of media in all-new state-of-the-art studio classrooms.
