DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in a three-hour drawing session set in an untutored environment at the Windgate Art School. This dynamic experience will feature a variety of timed poses with draped and undraped models\, providing an excellent opportunity for first-time students and experienced artists alike to hone their skills. \nStudents must be 18+ to attend\, as the session may use the undraped model. DESCRIPTION:Pause\, breathe\, and reconnect with the present in a conversation that considers how mindfulness and creativity can shape a more intentional\, balanced approach to life. \nThrough discussion and guided reflection\, three scholars and practitioners will explore how practices such as meditation\, movement\, and creative expression can quiet the mind\, reduce stress\, and awaken awareness: \n\nDr. Gina Drobena\, a board-certified clinical pathologist\nKerri Michael\, a holistic therapist and yoga teacher\nDr. Pele Yu\, co-founder of the UAMS Mindfulness Program\n\nRooted in the spirit of AMFA’s exhibition A Month of Sundays: Art and the Persistence of Time\, this program offers space to slow down\, center attention in the moment\, and discover pathways to better well-being. \n\nThe Mid-South Cohort\, a multi-year\, multi-institutional exhibition partnership formed by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art\, in collaboration with the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts\, the Birmingham Museum of Art\, Fisk University Art Gallery\, and the Mississippi Museum of Art\, is made possible by the Art Bridges Cohort Program. That’s why we’ve been writing\, producing\, and staging exceptional live theatre for youth and family audiences for more than 40 years. \nAMFA is committed to equity\, diversity\, and inclusion in our organization\, community\, and beyond. We are seeking a broad spectrum of artists\, and people of all ages\, races\, gender\, backgrounds\, and abilities are encouraged to apply.  We are a professional\, non-equity theater for young audiences. \nHow to Prepare\n\nBring a current headshot and resume (stapled together) that contains your contact information.\nPrepare 16-32 bars of an upbeat musical theatre song of any genre.\nPrepare a 30-60 second comedic monologue from any time period. Monologue must be memorized.\nLive accompaniment will be available. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. A Bluetooth speaker will be available\, as well.\nPlease make sure your audition does not exceed two minutes and 30 seconds.\n\nCallback auditions will take place by invitation only on Monday\, April 13\, at 5:00 p.m. \nPlease contact theatre@arkmfa.org if you have any questions. DESCRIPTION:Create expressive paintings inspired by the energy and emotion of music! \nWorking with Little Rock artist\, Hamid Ebrahimifar\, practice improvisational painting that mirrors the spontaneity and flow of sound.
