SUMMARY:AMFA Art Salon
DESCRIPTION:Great artistic minds come together during a social gathering inspired by 20th-century salons in the era of Rivera’s Paris. Full of creative exchange and open dialogue\, these intimate and exciting spaces once invited artists and philosophers alike to debate and dine as one – but now\, you get to join in on the fun.  \nTwo of AMFA’s Windgate Art School instructors specializing in different disciplines are paired together each evening to discuss their artistic inspirations and creative processes\, offering guests an opportunity to engage in passionate discussions and gain new perspectives and philosophies on art. \nThis evening’s event explores glass and woodworking – we hope to see you there! \n\nAMFA Art Salon is supported in part by the Alice L. Walton Foundation and the Windgate Foundation. \nRivera’s Paris is supported in part by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation with additional support from the Robert Lehman Foundation. \nThis exhibition is organized by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. \nThe Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen. \nWindgate Art School’s Reduced Tuition Program is supported by Michael Laughter. Reduced tuition is automatically applied to all classes through 2025. \nImage courtesy of Jason Masters. \n

SUMMARY:Concert Series: The Love Light Orchestra featuring John Németh
DESCRIPTION:The Love Light Orchestra\, formed in 2016\, draws inspiration from the grand\, orchestral blues sound of mid-20th century Memphis legends like B.B. King and Bobby Bland. While paying homage to this era\, the orchestra also embodies the spirit of the present\, offering a blend of down-home musicality and sophistication reminiscent of packed nightclubs of yesteryears. \nLed by trumpeter Marc Franklin\, guitarist Joe Restivo\, and vocalist John Nemeth\, the ensemble has garnered praise for its immersive performances\, capturing the essence of Memphis’ influential jazz and blues scene. Their debut studio album\, Leave the Light On\, showcases the collective’s dedication over three years\, navigating busy schedules and the challenges of a global health crisis. \nWith the release of their sophomore album\, the orchestra refines its sound\, presenting mostly original tunes that highlight their veteran musicianship while looking toward the future. The Love Light Orchestra balances a reverence for the past with a forward-thinking outlook\, solidifying their place in the contemporary blues landscape. \n\n\nPhoto courtesy of the artist. \n\n\n\n\nWEBSITE\n\n\n\nFACEBOOK\n\n\n\nINSTAGRAM\n\n\n\nSPOTIFY\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2024-2025 Concert Series is supported by Saracen Casino Resort.
