SUMMARY:Concert Series: The Brother Brothers
DESCRIPTION:The Brother Brothers are the indie folk duo of Adam and David Moss. \n\n\n\nThe identical twins were born and raised in Peoria\, Illinois\, and originally based in Brooklyn\, but have been ultimately and profoundly shaped by indiscriminate rambling. They are the kind of people who have a story about everything\, and more so\, one you might genuinely like to hear. \n\n\n\nTheir new album Cover to Cover is a requisite collection of covers inspired by an inward reflection of their roots during a time of great uncertainty and creative insecurity. \n\n\n\nThe Brother Brothers’ touring career spans international headlining support runs with the likes of I’m With Her\, Big Thief\, Lake Street Dive\, and Shakey Graves\, as well as key plays at NPR’s Mountain Stage\, FreshGrass Festival\, Folk Alliance\, Woodford Folk\, Nelsonville Music Festival\, and Edmonton Folk among others. \n\n\n\n\nWebsite\n\n\n\nInstagram\n\n\n\nFacebook\n\n\n\nYouTube

SUMMARY:Artist Talk: Risa Hricovsky
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an insightful talk with artist Risa Hricovsky as she discusses her new work and exhibition\, Then Is Now. \nThen Is Now comprises playful “shag rug” ceramic wall sculptures that transform the Robyn and John Horn Gallery with color and pattern that carries deep messages. A fragment of domestic décor\, these rugs furtively evoke 1960s counterculture and the call for peace\, love\, and progressive change. \nRather than soft carpet\, Hricovsky uses hard porcelain — a nod to how fossilized and unchanged some of those 1960s ideals turned out to be. However\, the artist suggests they represent contemporary idealism and are as relevant as ever. \nRisa Hricovsky: Then Is Now is on view in the Robyn and John Horn Gallery through May 5\, 2024. \nWant more Risa? Don’t miss her live demonstration in the Windgate Art School on April 20. \nAbout Risa Hricovsky\nRisa Hricovsky received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago\, a post-baccalaureate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison\, and a BFA from Bowling Green State University. Recently\, Hricovsky received a Bailey Opportunity Grant\, Current Art Fund Grant\, and won First Place in mixed media at the Zanesville Prize for Contemporary Ceramics. \nShe has exhibited nationally and internationally and attended many prestigious residencies. Most notable residencies include the Studios at MASS MoCA in North Adams\, MA; Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center in Skealskor\, Denmark; and SIM in Reykjavik. Iceland. \nCurrently\, Hricovsky is an Assistant Professor of Art at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate\, TN. \n\nArtist Talk: Risa Hricovsky is supported by the Alice L. Walton Foundation. \nRisa Hricovsky: Then Is Now is organized by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and is supported by the Alan DuBois Fund for Contemporary Craft.
