SUMMARY:Art Together for Guests with Dementia and Their Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:Drop in and discover AMFA with a docent-led tour through the galleries! \nLed by trained docents and specialists\, this tour welcomes guests living with dementia or Alzheimer’s – along with their caregivers and family members – to connect and use art to build cognitive skills. The afternoon concludes with a studio workshop with art educators who lead artmaking activities that build creativity and encourage play. \nFor ease of accessibility\, guests are encouraged to arrive early\, park on Crescent Drive off Ninth Street on the north side of the Museum\, and enter through the Courtyard Entrance. \nAvailability is limited\, so please register yourself and your loved one as soon as possible. \n\nArt Together: Guests with Dementia and their Caregivers is a collaboration with Alzheimer’s Arkansas and is supported by Judy C Thompson Rev. DESCRIPTION:Experiment with the printmaking during this three-hour drop-in experience at the Windgate Art School. Open to beginner and experienced artists alike\, it’s a great way to learn a new art form or work indepedently on your own projects. \nAn instructor will moderate the session and be available for critiques and questions upon request. \nBasic printmaking materials will be available. Students are also welcome to bring their own materials or purchase materials from the AMFA Museum Store. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2024 on AMFA’s Crescent Lawn and have uninterrupted views of the total solar eclipse! \nWhile waiting for the special moment to arrive\, enjoy music mixed by a live DJ\, grab a bite to eat\, and party the day away in style. Ballet Arkansas hits the stage at 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to perform electrifying previews of Bravo and Swan Lake. \nThe Museum will also be open\, allowing you time to explore sun\, moon\, and celestial-inspired works of art on view in the galleries. \nAll guests will receive complimentary eclipse glasses. \nNo coolers\, outside food or drinks\, beverage containers\, water bottles\, large bags\, or pets will be permitted.
