DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in a three-hour drawing session set in an untutored environment at the Windgate Art School. This dynamic experience will feature a variety of timed poses with draped and undraped models\, providing an excellent opportunity for first-time students and experienced artists alike to hone their skills. \nStudents must be 18+ to attend\, as the session may use the undraped model. An instructor will moderate the session and be available for critiques and questions upon request. \nStudents are encouraged to bring their own materials or purchase materials from the AMFA Museum Store. Recommended materials are graphite drawing pencils\, charcoals\, and a kneaded eraser. DESCRIPTION:Create unique musical instruments from found and recycled materials in this one-day workshop designed for rising third\, fourth\, and fifth-grade students. \nStudents will learn how various instruments work\, and explore the different ways to use everyday items to create functional musical instruments. DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in a three-hour drawing session set in an untutored environment at the Windgate Art School. This dynamic experience will feature a variety of timed poses with draped and undraped models\, providing an excellent opportunity for first-time students and experienced artists alike to hone their skills. \nStudents must be 18+ to attend\, as the session may use the undraped model. An instructor will moderate the session and be available for critiques and questions upon request. \nStudents are encouraged to bring their own materials or purchase materials from the AMFA Museum Store. Recommended materials are graphite drawing pencils\, charcoals\, and a kneaded eraser. Using recycled cardboard\, design an abstract collage that layers shapes\, textures\, and colors into one-of-a-kind composition. \nAt Creative Saturdays\, guests of all ages and abilities are welcome. Just drop in and enjoy a free\, family-friendly art-making activity in AMFA’s Windgate Art School – no registration required! \nFor preschool-aged children\, do not miss Art Start at 10:30 a.m. in the Amerine/Calhoun Glass Box\, where there will be a playful live reading of Be A Tree! by Maria Gianferrari. After story time\, young artists can use natural materials to create an artwork that explores the beauty of trees. \nThis event is hosted in partnership with the North Little Rock Public Library System. \nAbout the North Little Rock Public Library System\nThe North Little Rock Public Library System comprises three libraries in North Little Rock: the William F. Laman Public Library located at 2801 Orange Street\, Argenta Public Library at 420 Main Street\, and the Neighborhood Library Rover – a mobile library that provides library services in the North Little Rock city limits. The Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub joined NLRPLS in January 2025. \nThese libraries serve the community as valuable resources\, offering art galleries and diverse circulating collections that include tools\, cooking equipment\, telescopes\, hotspots\, and more.
