DESCRIPTION:Start your weekend with free art-making fun for all ages and skill levels in AMFA’s Windgate Art School! \nThis special Creative Saturdays activity hosted by Carver STEAM Magnet Elementary School and Washington Elementary School invites guests to embrace the playful spirit of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat with a wordplay poetry activity. \nDraw words from a hat\, invent your own short poem\, and bring them to life with colorful illustrations. Let your imagination run wild as you craft unique poems and vibrant illustrations in this playful and creative experience! \nFor preschool-aged children\, do not miss Art Start at 10:30 a.m. in the Amerine/Calhoun Glass Box\, where there will be a live reading of The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. \n\nCreative Saturdays with Art Start is supported in part by the Alice L. Walton Foundation and Walmart Spark Good. \nThe Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen. \nWindgate Art School’s Reduced Tuition Program is supported in part by Michael Laughter.
