SUMMARY:Creative Saturdays
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the 60th Spring Tour of Homes: Art and Architecture in MacArthur Park\, the Quapaw Quarter Association is hosting a free\, hands-on art project that invites guests to design their own imaginative neighborhoods. \nUsing stamps and ink\, participants will design their own roads\, homes\, and landscapes by drawing inspiration from architectural details and the vibrant character of the surrounding neighborhood. All ages and skill levels are welcome! \nAbout the Quapaw Quarter Association\nIncorporated in 1968\, the Quapaw Quarter Association (QQA) grew out of an effort to identify and protect significant historic structures in Little Rock during the urban renewal projects of the early 1960s. Throughout its existence\, the QQA has been a driving force behind historic preservation in Greater Little Rock. \n\nCreative Saturdays are supported by the Alice L. Walton Foundation. \nThe Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen. \nWindgate Art School’s Reduced Tuition Program is supported in part by Michael Laughter. Reduced tuition is automatically applied on all classes through 2025. \n

SUMMARY:Creative Saturdays
DESCRIPTION:Start your weekend with free art-making fun for all ages and skill levels in AMFA’s Windgate Art School! \nInspired by the revolutionary Cubist works of Picasso\, Braque\, and Rivera on view in Rivera’s Paris\, this Creative Saturdays activity invites you to explore the world of Cubism through paper collage. \nUse paper and dry media to experiment with bold shapes\, fragmented perspectives\, and overlapping planes to mirror the innovative techniques that redefined modern art. By layering and deconstructing forms\, create a dynamic composition that captures the essence of this groundbreaking movement. \nRivera’s Paris is supported in part by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation and the Robert Lehman Foundation. \nThis exhibition is organized by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. \n

DESCRIPTION:Make a pair of vases inspired by the art on view in Rivera’s Paris during this engaging hands-on workshop! \nParticipants will explore the artworks of Rivera’s Paris by visiting the AMFA galleries to gather inspiration from the colors\, textures\, and shapes seen in the exhibition.
