DESCRIPTION:Bring the world of Shakespeare to life through bold\, high-energy puppetry in this hands-on workshop with SHAKE Theatre of New York. \nLed by Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director Josh Rice—a two-time Jim Henson Foundation Award recipient and founder of the New York State Puppet Festival—participants will design and build their own puppets and develop the skills to animate them with movement\, voice\, and character. \nFocusing on key moments from Hamlet\, including the Ghost scenes and the play-within-a-play\, this interactive session invites participants to experiment with puppetry techniques\, physical performance\, and stagecraft in a fast-paced\, collaborative environment. \nDesigned for participants ready to build on performance skills\, as well as those new to puppetry and Shakespeare\, this workshop offers an engaging introduction to SHAKE Theatre’s inventive and playful approach to classical work. \nThis workshop is recommended for teens and adults. \n\nPhoto by Kat Kuo.

As the series unfolds\, deepen focus\, release stress\, and build support well-being and connection through art. \nIn this session\, engage in gentle\, seated yoga movements that support breath\, relaxation\, and ease of movement. This accessible practice reconnects you with your body and leaves you with simple techniques you can carry into daily life. \n\nThe Mid-South Cohort\, a multi-year\, multi-institutional exhibition partnership formed by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art\, in collaboration with the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts\, the Birmingham Museum of Art\, Fisk University Art Gallery\, and the Mississippi Museum of Art\, is made possible by the Art Bridges Cohort Program. Simon. \nAfter decades as a tireless advocate for justice and social change\, Samuel A. Simon faces the most personal fight of his life: the slow\, undeniable progression of cognitive decline. When the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease comes\, he refuses to fade quietly. \nDementia Man – An Existential Journey is an award-winning autobiographical story that peeks into the head and heart of the struggle with a broken medical system and a personal and family challenge. Is it possible to believe in a meaningful future with a neurocognitive disease?

SUMMARY:Under A Restless Sky: Art and Music
DESCRIPTION:At this one-night-only live premiere\, composer D. Riley Nicholson is set to debut Refugium: an innovative performance blending classical music with experimental instrumentation. Accompanying Nicholson on the piano are musicians from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra playing viola\, cello\, and upright bass to amplify the experience. \nNicholson’s score is an adapted interpretation of the weather data that informed Nathalie Miebach’s installation Under A Restless Sky\, currently on view in the AMFA Galleries. \nMarking the latest edition of Miebach’s Weather Score Project – through which the artist translates collected weather data into musical scores – this performance explores the impact of environmental changes and expresses the emotions felt by those who experience them. \nAfter the performance\, enjoy a conversation between Miebach and Nicholson as they discuss how they collaborated to transform data into their individual art forms. \nThe evening concludes with a reception in the Cultural Living Room. \n\nUnder a Restless Sky: Art and Music (Refugium) is presented by the Vratsinas Foundation. \nNathalie Miebach: Under A Restless Sky is supported in part by The Brown Foundation\, Inc. of Houston and Bank of America.\nThis exhibition is organized by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. \nImage courtesy of Jason Masters.
