DESCRIPTION:Explore Arkansas’s role as a cultural crossroads through a dynamic conversation bringing together artists\, scholars\, and community leaders. \nExamine how overlooked stories are rediscovered\, how cultural memory is preserved\, and how communities reclaim narratives that have too often been left untold. \nModerated by AMFA Artist-in-Residence and Marie and Rosetta director Fergie Philippe\, this exciting event features the following panelists: \n\nCandace Dolls / Education Coordinator\, Delta Cultural Center\nStephen Koch / Host of Arkansongs\nAngel Townsend-Burt / Executive Director\, Dunbar Historic Neighborhood Association\n\nBefore the Event\nArrive early at 5:30 p.m. to learn about the remarkable life and legacy of Arkansas composer Florence Price through a special presentation created and performed by students from Little Rock Central High School. \nThrough dramatic storytelling and historical narrative\, this free performance illuminates the achievements of one of America’s most influential\, yet historically overlooked\, composers. \n\nMarie and Rosetta is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French\, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com \nMarie and Rosetta is supported in part by Cardinal Counseling\, Virgil L.
