SUMMARY:Leather Working Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This beginner-friendly workshop introduces the core techniques of traditional leathercraft to make a laced leather shoulder bag. \nLearn hands-on processes of making a pattern\, cutting pieces\, and trimming laces for assembly. Various leather types\, uses of leather\, and terms will be discussed. \nDemonstrations of how to safely use tools and punches will also be instructed. By the end of the workshop\, you will have crafted a functional and durable shoulder bag. \n\nThe Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen. \nThe Windgate Art School’s Reduced Tuition Program is supported by Michael Laughter. SUMMARY:Abstract Clay Sculpture Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create a unique\, free-standing abstract clay sculpture inspired by the artwork on display at AMFA. \nStudents will view and reference artwork to gather ideas for incorporating form into a sculptural design.
