SUMMARY:Concert Series: Cyrille Aimée
DESCRIPTION:Cyrille Aimée\, known worldwide as a remarkable interpreter of jazz steeped in French tradition\, has taken her musical journey from France to New York and New Orleans. Her latest album\, A Fleur de Peau marks a significant shift\, presenting Cyrille’s original compositions in collaboration with New York multi-instrumentalist Jake Sherman. \nDrawing from her Dominican heritage and personal experiences\, the album showcases Cyrille’s most original and personal work yet. The album’s genesis in Costa Rica during a transformative period of Cyrille’s life led to a creative rebirth as a songwriter. Amidst the jungle’s inspiration\, she gained confidence\, designing and building a house and crafting new songs. Working closely with Sherman\, Cyrille recorded live performances\, adding layers of arrangement\, resulting in a diverse yet honest collection of songs. \nWith themes ranging from personal experiences to bilingual tributes to New Orleans\, A Fleur de Peau embodies Cyrille’s intimate yet universally relatable musical journey\, inspiring creativity and connection. \n\n\nPhoto by Colville Heskey. \n\n\n\n\nWEBSITE\n\n\n\nFACEBOOK\n\n\n\nYOUTUBE\n\n\n\nSPOTIFY\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2024-2025 Concert Series is supported by Saracen Casino Resort.

SUMMARY:Concert Series: The Love Light Orchestra featuring John Németh
DESCRIPTION:The Love Light Orchestra\, formed in 2016\, draws inspiration from the grand\, orchestral blues sound of mid-20th century Memphis legends like B.B. King and Bobby Bland. While paying homage to this era\, the orchestra also embodies the spirit of the present\, offering a blend of down-home musicality and sophistication reminiscent of packed nightclubs of yesteryears. \nLed by trumpeter Marc Franklin\, guitarist Joe Restivo\, and vocalist John Nemeth\, the ensemble has garnered praise for its immersive performances\, capturing the essence of Memphis’ influential jazz and blues scene. Their debut studio album\, Leave the Light On\, showcases the collective’s dedication over three years\, navigating busy schedules and the challenges of a global health crisis. \nWith the release of their sophomore album\, the orchestra refines its sound\, presenting mostly original tunes that highlight their veteran musicianship while looking toward the future. The Love Light Orchestra balances a reverence for the past with a forward-thinking outlook\, solidifying their place in the contemporary blues landscape. \n\n\nPhoto courtesy of the artist. \n\n\n\n\nWEBSITE\n\n\n\nFACEBOOK\n\n\n\nINSTAGRAM\n\n\n\nSPOTIFY\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2024-2025 Concert Series is supported by Saracen Casino Resort.

SUMMARY:Concert Series: Bab L'Bluz
DESCRIPTION:Bab L’ Bluz\, meaning “The Door of the Blues\,” is a Franco-Moroccan group formed in 2018 in Marrakech when Moroccan singer/guitarist Yousra Mansour met French guitarist/producer Brice Bottin. Driven by their passion for Gnawa music\, they learned the guembri together\, creating a fusion of French and Moroccan influences that birthed a repertoire of 10 tracks. \nWith their electric guembris\, Bab L’ Bluz combines Gnawa trance rhythms\, Hassani songs from southern Morocco\, and Chaâbi polyrhythms\, infusing their music with elements of psychedelic rock and incense-filled atmospheres. Led by a female doukkalia\, the group aligns with the “Nayda” movement of Moroccan youth\, promoting local heritage and singing freedom-inspired texts in Moroccan-Arabic dialect\, darija. \nSince their inception\, the quartet has been active globally\, captivating audiences with their hypnotic riffs and mystical\, liberating performances. Bab L’ Bluz’s poetic and powerful music transcends boundaries\, expanding into a sonic territory of its own. \nIn 2020\, they gained acclaim with their album Nayda!\, earning top rankings and reviews from Mojo\, Songlines\, The New York Times\, Vogue Arabia\, BBC\, and others. The following year\, they won their first Songlines Music Award and embarked on a world tour that continues to captivate audiences. \nTheir new album Swaken was released on May 10\, 2024. \n\n\nPhoto by Samadoss Maitoul. \n\n\n\n\nINSTAGRAM\n\n\n\nFACEBOOK\n\n\n\nSPOTIFY\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2024-2025 Concert Series is supported in part by Saracen Casino Resort. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBab L’Bluz is supported in part by 107 Liquor.
