SUMMARY:Hot Glass Sculpture Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create glass sculpture by melting and fusing glass rods over a hot torch flame. \nThis workshop introduces you to the basics of flameworking with boro silicate glass rods\, including how to safely operate a gas-fueled torch and shape solid glass rods. You will explore techniques for melting and forming glass while gaining a better understanding of heat control and movement. \nThis workshop is a great introduction for beginners and a fun skill-builder for returning glass students. \n\nThe Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen. \nThe Windgate Art School’s Reduced Tuition Program is supported by Michael Laughter. Under the guidance of an experienced woodturning artist\, students will learn to safely drill\, turn\, and finish wooden blanks into smooth handsized pens.
