SUMMARY:Ceramic Vase Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Create a unique cylindrical vase inspired by AMFA’s Rivera’s Paris exhibition. Students will visit the AMFA galleries to explore select artworks\, gathering ideas for incorporating color and shape into their vase designs. \nUsing underglaze and carving tools\, you will bring your vision to life by adding intricate patterns and textures to your piece. Throughout the process\, you will learn how to manipulate the materials to achieve depth and contrast. Once your design is complete\, a clear glaze will be applied by staff\, enhancing and brightening your colors for a polished\, finished look. \nThis workshop offers a unique opportunity to draw inspiration from a rich collection while honing your ceramic techniques. \n\nRivera’s Paris is supported in part by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation with additional support from the Robert Lehman Foundation. \nThis exhibition is organized by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. \nThe Windgate Art School is generously supported by the Windgate Foundation with additional support from Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen. \nWindgate Art School’s Reduced Tuition Program is supported by Michael Laughter. Reduced tuition is automatically applied to all classes through 2025. \nImage courtesy of Jason Masters. \n
